Fingerless Mitts

Posted in Knitting with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 26, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I knitted some fingerless mitts that you guys may like.

They’re different colours to each other as I wanted them to look odd.

The white mitt looks like a cast… I know.

A close up on the cable patterns.

So there you have it! I think I’ll do a black pair and then a purple pair.

I should be making some for my sister to so I’ll keep you posted.

The Comic Books Showed Me The Way

Converses and comics? What’s not to like?

The world is against my pocket…Haven’t I told you already that I am broke after hols??? What about having one of your favorite comic characters drawn on some of the best-comfiest-vegan shoes ever??? This is not fair. Although I have to say…Thank you, Converse!.

I am a geek, I love comics and I am absolutely proud of it. I do adore Ms. Harley Quinn and now converse has release a pair of beauties featuring the Joker’s adorable sidekick. Check Harley Quinn’s converse edition.

I want them…Perhaps I should say…I NEED them

New Task Board

Posted in Miscellaneous with tags , , , , on August 25, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I wanted to share my white board that I’ll be using from now on to note down all my crafty projects.

Jason (my boyfriend) added the “sexy beast”….

I can stick my fabric swatches and trims on here too which will come in handy.

This will save me having loose notes everywhere!

How do you keep your work spaces tidy? Any suggestions would be great too.

Polka Dot Skirt

Posted in Sewing with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on August 19, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I’m in the process of sewing a skirt for my little sister, here are some photos!

I pinned my pattern on the fold of the fabric and cut it out (do the same for the lining).

Sister chose the fabric (she’s very colourful)

Instead of using a bias binding I decided to sew the lining to the skirt at the waist, this is a neater way for me to finish it off.

Attaching lining to skirt at waist

I used one of the zig zag stitches on my sewing machine to help me hem the lining.

zig zag hemming.

I then hemmed the lining (which I don’t like doing but I gave it a go).

Hem of lining.

I seemed to have done the hem of the skirt inside-out so I may attempt hemming it up.

All to be done now is to insert a zip, when that’s done I will show you the completed skirt worn by my sis.

Needle Point Projects

Hi All,

I have completed a few hand sewn pieces. I always wanted to do a cross stitch skull piece, so I looked on the net and came across this pattern.

Here is how my skull turned out

My x-stitch skull.

Below are some stitches I have attempted for the first time, I’m going to use them as book marks.

The book it’s on top of is where I got them from. Here is a link for the book,

Hope you have enjoyed

Hi All,

Here’s a large cross stitch I did earlier in the year, it was easy to do and great for beginners.

This was a cross stitch kit I purchased at the Bearwood Market (West Midlands, UK).

I hope you like it!
