My Sorbetto Top

Posted in Miscellaneous, Sewing with tags , , , , , , , on September 26, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I came across a post at http://reddthreads.wordpress.com which had a free sorbetto top pattern by collette.

I have made two unfinished tops and I am starting another, here are some fuzzy pics (sorry).

I haven’t put binding on any of these yet

The pleat is a little wonky here.

Damn fuzziness! I like this one as it look simple. I may use orange binding and buttons down the pleat.

Here’s a layout for my latest sorbetto.

A Dress For Mom

Posted in Miscellaneous, Sewing with tags , , , , , , , on September 18, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I have sewn a few dresses for my mom and they turned out better than expected.

Here’s just one of three, one is a w.i.p, hey! I said wip (work in progress)

S (my mom) picked the fabric.

Back view of dress.

S was wearing a pink mohair cardigan she knitted years ago, it matched nicely… should have taken a pic of it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Skulls For My Ears!

Posted in Miscellaneous with tags , , , , , , , on September 17, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I wanted to show you a quick photo of a present I received today, some lovely skull studs!

Brought from Claires’ Accessories

I have a fascination with skulls and gore (I don’t know why, but I like them) , these a just cute at the same time.

I have a bracelet similar to these, I was told they were from Tibet and made from cows teeth…. not sure if that’s true but I  was going to buy them anyway (the story just made me want them more!)

Anyway… Thanks for stopping by.

Polka Dot Skirt: Completed

Posted in Sewing with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 6, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I have photos of the skirt I sewn for my sister, this is her modelling it 🙂

X was pleased with it when I gave it to her (although it doesn’t look so here lol)

These were shot outside our house as the lighting was better, more projects to come.

Spoonflower

Posted in Miscellaneous with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 4, 2012 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I have been doing a few designs involving star print fabric when I came across this website

http://www.spoonflower.com/welcome

It’s a site where you can create your own fabric as well as buy some that have been created by others.

I wondered onto the skull and anime sections which I have ideas for already.

The green and purple would look nice as a scarf or a handkerchief top.

Here’s a tetris fabric and skirt made with it

My absolute favourite this one!

I could make some many things from this fabric, can you name all the characters here?

P.S. I’ve completed the polka dot skirt I made for my sister, will post very soon!
