Hi All,
I thought it was about time I shared a quick top I made a while ago to test out this tennis fabric.

This is a ‘process in photos’ thingy.

You could use a contrasting tie to draw the waist in.

I used a pattern I made from a pattern book, a standard bodice pattern. The tie was knitted by my mom (which matches a cardigan)

Hi All,

I just wanted to share a tutorial I did today over at Kollabora, one piece from a collection I’m in the middle of completing.

Here’s the cropped cowl top

I want to make more!

I’ve ran out of fabric and I want to make more stuff, I have so many ideas I just have to make!

Babys’ Acid Cardigan

Posted in Sewing with tags , , , , , , on April 18, 2013 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I had some left over Patons Fab DK yarn from my Acid Spring tank, so I decided to make an edgy baby cardigan for a famiy friend.

I moved the button down because my mom told me it’s supposed to be a v neckline!

I still have a ball of this wool left (I over estimated how much wool I needed for my tank) so I’ll be making a lot more with this yarn, I like how different it looks.

There’ll be more to punky yarn projects to come!

One Pattern, Two Dresses

Posted in Sewing with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 14, 2013 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I just wanted to update you on a few dresses I made. The first dress I made a while ago now and I have worn it a few times, the second dress I made this week and has extra piece to it. They were made using the same pattern as this dress (but without the slanted hem).

Here’s dress one:

Sorry about the blurry image.

This is the back.

This is how it looks with my leather jacket on.

Take no notice of the leggings, I couldn’t be bothered to take them off.

Now here’s dress two: warning! Dodgy photos ahead!

The sun was in my eyes!

I thought I’d add a trim to the neck but I wanted to see what it looked like not gathered. I think it looks better if it was pinned down.

I really thought I was smiling here… I’m no good at smiling. That’s why I pull faces.

I also took the bust darts out to give it a pleated/sack look. Actually, I’ll look at making some sack dresses made.

More creativeness to come!

Acid Spring Top

Posted in Knitting with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on April 7, 2013 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I decided to do a quick knitted top so Spring can hurry up and get here!

I got this multi-coloured wool as it’s different to the black that I usually buy.

I found an image of what it looks like in the actual book here, it’s the third one on the top row.

I'm not sure how to describe this pattern from affar... acid?

The pattern didn’t have ribbing so it rolls at the hem, on the pattern it looks flat. Some tops have this rolling effect so I’m not TOO fussed.

This pattern did come with short sleeves, I knitted one but I think it looks nice like this.

I think I’ll be knitting this again, or maybe this one.

Happy Crafting!
