Jungle Legs

Hi All,

I’ve wanted to make a contrasting pair of leggings since starting my Striped Collection but since I had some left over leopard print from my Hemlock Tee, I thought I’d give animal print a go.

Once I cut the pieces out from a self drafted pattern, it didn’t take long at all to put together. The large roll of black elastic I brought from the indoor market around £3.00 has come in handy.

To be honest, I have had some attention with these leggings and not sure weather it’s good or bad. I liked the idea so I decided why not also I would like to make a pair of contrasting jeans at some point.

I got a lot more cotton jersey fabric to make plenty of stretch garments, so look out for those!

Blue Hips

Hi All,

I sewn this skirt a while back and realised I haven’t blogged about it yet, I think it was because I wanted it to be a circular skirt instead of pencil. I like it now.

I wear it more as it used to match my hair (it’s gone a little green, which is cool as I wanted to go that colour at some point) and it’s goes with most of the clothes I own.

Photo time.

I think it looks better on the waist, it gives me more shape. It was quick to sew, if I had more material laying around I’d sew another one.

Hemlock Tee Gone Wild

Posted in Sewing, Tops with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on September 15, 2013 by MontanaDesigns

Hi All,

I have seen a lot of Hemlock Tees lately and I thought I should give it a go myself. The pattern is from Grainline Studio and it’s free! I’m planning to make a few more of these and maybe a dress version. I also want to get the Scout Woven Tee and the Kat Strapless dress patterns from the website.

I took a few photos near the new library in Birmingham so I didn’t want to pose to much.

I haven’t stopped wearing it, I like how simple it was to make and how comfortable this tee is. This my first time wearing animal print too, doesn’t look bad!

Happy sewing people!

The Striped Collection

Hi All,

I mentioned a long while ago about a little collection I was making up, I got distracted (as usual) by making other things so I wanted to show you what I have so far.

The one below I originally made as a skirt but it looked better as a top, here it is as a skirt.

There’s a cowl neck top I made to match here.

I want to introduce more solid black to this collection, making leggings, dresses and tops. I’m thinking of using frills too.

I will update on this.
