I had been busy sewing-wise preparing outfits for my holiday, I ended up bringing so many clothes, I didn’t wear half of them and my suitcase was over weight coming home!
I had a great time in Nevis and St Kitts, it granted me the opportunity to take some sunny “look what I made” photos. Most of these where taken with my Snapchat camera as, for some reason, they looked a lot better.
I’ll start with the most recent makes as I have posted the others on here beforehand.
The first photo is a sneek peek of a maxi dress/skirt I made after following a tutorial I found on Pinterest a very long time ago, I just needed an excuse to make it. In the end it took me around 2 hours to make, I sat there thinking “why did I take so long to make this”?! Needless to say I’ll be making a few more versions of this as its versatile.
The second photo is of a skirt I sewn last year after being inspired by the photo above, I gathered the waist with elastic and added pockets. I couldn’t stand buying skirts or dresses as I wasn’t used to having pockets, one of the reasons I keep sewing. Some changes I would make are; a standard waistband; a wider shape and a zip.
The two above are dresses I have posted here previously, its a coincidence that they’re purple, (it’s my favourite colour). The first pic is a skater dress with a square/handkercheif skirt, made using a pattern I drafted, the details are here.
The final piece on this post is this “head turner” of a dress (HA!), I last time I wore this was to a wedding so I thought why not wear it to a surprise birthday party too! Here is the original post. I have yet to make a black version but I’m working on it… the list keeps growing.
I’ll think about taking WIP photos for my next post, until then, happy crafting!
